In an effort to accommodate more in-person learning for all students prior to the Winter Holiday Break, the Boise School District is making changes to the District's current school year calendar. As part of this change, secondary schools will operate under a condensed straight schedule with all class periods meeting for shorter periods of time.

The Alternative High School summer program is for students in grades 9-12. This program has two 4-week semesters. Classes may be taken for credit recovery or course advancement. The Summer Alternative High School classes are supported by Boise School District teachers who will use the Boise School District curriculum. Twenty years ago, Boise High's overcrowded student population was halved and shepherded to this new east Boise high school. Thus, a new school rivalry was born.
